The constraint

Content operations spanned five tools, and the integration layer between them was a person. The obvious pitch was one large agent to orchestrate everything, which is the pitch we declined to make.

What we changed

Nine narrow agents, each owning a single well-defined handoff, with a human approving anything that leaves the building. Narrow agents fail in ways you can diagnose; broad ones fail in ways you can only apologise for.

  • One agent per handoff, each independently testable
  • Evaluation harness per agent, run on every change
  • Human approval preserved on outbound publication

Where it landed

Manual routing effort dropped by about seventy percent, and the system has run for months without anyone assigned to watch it.
